Okehampton (/ˌoʊkˈhæmp.tən/ also /ˈoʊ.kæmp.tən/) is a town and civil parish in West Devon in the English county of Devon. It is situated at the northern edge of Dartmoor, and has an estimated population of 5,700.[1] This increased to 7,160 at the 2011 census.[citation needed] Two electoral wards are based in the town (east and west). Their joint population at the same census is 7,500.[2][3]
